1. Starting in Safe Mode1. Starting in Safe Mode

When you start to notice a problem with your laptop, you can try a few simple fixes. They won't work for bigger problems, but they can fix minor bugs and may be all you need to get your computer running again. Turn on the computer, or restart it if it's already on. When the loading screen first appears, begin to press the F8 key until a black screen with options appears.

Select "Start From Last Good Configuration" and press "Enter." The laptop will attempt to restore the system to the last time it was working properly. Remember, however, that anything downloaded since that time will no longer be on the system if you use this option. Simply restarting the computer may fix a problem as well. Give it a few minutes after turning it off before turning it back on again.

2.Viruses and Spyware

If you get a lot of error messages or odd malfunctions on your laptop, you may have a virus or spyware. The easiest way to remove these bugs is to download a reliable anti-virus software such as Norton or AVG and scan the entire computer. Tell the software to run a full scan. It may take several hours, but it can detect some of the bugs that might have infected your system.

When the results are finished, select the option to delete any infected files. If the problem continues, contact a tech support or computer technician for more assistance. Never try to alter any files on your computer if you don't have the training for it. You could accidentally cause permanent damage to your system.

3.Troubleshooting Power Problems

If your computer won't turn on, or turns off randomly while you're working, there may be a problem with its power source. Check that the battery is charged and that the power cord is plugged in properly. Look to see if there are any breaks in the power cord's wire that might be disrupting the signal.

If your computer comes on but turns itself off without warning, it may be overheating. Turn it off for a while and try again later. If the problem persists, take it to a specialist to let her check the cooling fans and power outlet. If the laptop won't turn on at all, contact a computer specialist or your computer's tech support for more help.
