The name Mary Magdalen has significant meaning for the walk of Jesus in spreading the word of God.
She was a lady keen on ministry, preaching and went around speaking of the goodness of the Lord. Indeed she had every reason to, having been cured of evil demons by Jesus himself. Her strength is seen in the way she led other women disciples to be at the side of the cross when Jesus was being crucified, and was there even during his burial.
The words of Jesus were her calling and she showed a true devotion in his work and ministry. It is during the last days of Jesus that this courageous woman became a prominent figure as she travelled alongside Jesus learning and receiving teachings from the Savior.
The reason she is a special character of the Bible is because she was the first person to see the resurrected Jesus Christ and also witnessed the empty tomb where the body of Jesus had been buried. Imagine being her, there you are you have all these teachings from the Lords son and you then witness his resurrection. It's this maiden led the disciples in teachings which she understood at much deeper levels than many other followers of Christ.
It is not easy to conceive how even in those times women played important roles not just in the household, but roles such as these. It was not a job for the faint hearted and she had the right attributes to lead. Mary Magdalen along with other women wanted to learn from Jesus, they wanted to know the word of the Lord and understand the plans that were set for the people of Galilee. I guess had it been today, she would be up on the pulpit with other female ministers truly leading in discipleship.
