How to Make Windows 7 Run Faster Now?

Windows 7 might be the latest version of Windows ever released, but it's still got a big problem in the form of it running slowly. This problem is a massive issue for all versions of Windows, but fortunately, because Windows 7 is so advanced, you can fix its slow speed very easily. To do this, you just need to be able to fix various parts of this system which cause it to run slow. Here's what you need to do...

1) Clean Out Junk Files - "Junk files" is the term used to describe the files that you have on your computer which you don't need, and don't do anything. These files can range from downloads to system files that you no longer need. They cause Windows to run slowly because of the way in which your computer has to "index" them all when it boots up. All Windows computers "index" the various files on your PC - and its where your computer basically scans through all your files & makes a note of where they are located so that it can find them quicker. The more junk files you have, the longer Windows will take to load & the slower it will run. To fix this, look at any files on your system and remove them by pressing SHIFT + DELETE.

2) Uninstall Any Programs You Don't Use - Having programs you don't need / use any more is a big drain on system resources, which continually causes Windows to run slow. One of the big problems with this is the way in which many programs will actually run in the "background" of your system - which will take up precious system resources and settings that will prevent your computer from running. To make sure this is not a problem, you should uninstall any programs you don't want by clicking "Start" (Windows Logo, bottom left) > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.

3) Clean Out The Registry - The "registry" is a central database which your computer uses to store all the settings & options that it requires to run. This database is not known to most people, but is a huge part of every Windows system, including Windows 7. The problem with it is that since this database is continually being used 100's of times a day, it's also being saved in the wrong way as well, leading your computer to take longer to read the files it needs to run, slowing it down. Many Windows computers run extremely slowly thanks to the way in which the 'registry' runs slow, and in order to fix it, you should use a 'registry cleaner' to scan through your PC and repair the damaged parts of it that are causing problems for your system. This could actually be one of the most beneficial things you could do for your PC.
