Justice In Jersey Speaking At Conference
Justice In Jersey Speaking At Conference

June 25, 2010 Justice In Jersey will be speaking at a conference in Washington, DC regarding the importance of reform of our sex offender laws and the impact it will have on our families and society today and in the future. While Justice In Jersey's participation is minimal, their belief is strong. This conference will bring people from all of this great nation to one spot to discuss how we can reform our current sex offender laws so that we can treat and not just punish. In this way, we will be able to identify those that are not treatable and focus the harsh laws on them instead of lumping every sex offender as the same. Certainly the man who molested my child is far more dangerous than the teenager who sends a nude picture of herself to her boyfriend. Yet, the law, policymakers, and the media do not distinguish the difference between them. We need to work on reforming out sex offender laws, as they have not been reformed in almost 2 decades.

Speakers are from all over the country from PHD, to victims, to offenders and organizations such as ours. The variety in itself ensures a very interesting and productive conference. We are sure that there will be some great consistency and plan of actions emerging from this conference. The last conference was in Boston, Mass. and we have made great strides since that conference. We are very certain the same will happen this time too!

Hope to see you there!
