The HTC Desire will be a much sought after device with the enhanced technology HTC have packed in!

Recently HTC unleashed the Legend into the world and it has gone down a treat, but with the HTC Desire we have a whole different beast to deal with. The device has a mind blowing 1GHz processor and utilises the plentiful HTC Sense overlay with an Android 2.1 base. The phone's display measures at 3.7 inches diagonally and is a real spectacle with its WVGA resolution and intense contrast ratio. Complete with a digital camera, social network management and an online app store the Desire is as the name suggests, desirable!

The Desire has a full rubberized chassis so for comfort and the body's rounded rim makes it even more palm-able. The device has a powerful SnapDragon processor; this delivers high speed browsing and a receptive multimedia experience, the phones powerful processor and intelligent operating system are neatly wrapped in the intuitive HTC Sense user interface which put a sophisticated spin on the phone's main functions, the Desire's capacitive touch screen is both bright and soft and it is responds to the slightest touch for maximum efficiency. The phone's Android 2.1 operating system (clair) is accompanied by a full Google support service which includes Google maps which works in collaboration with HTC Footprints for a pretty decent navigation package, the Google search engine is in place for intricate searches and of course the Android Market delivers thousands of apps, themes, wallpapers and games for you to download onto your device so it suits your needs.

HTC have gifted this awesome handset with some pretty useful widgets with the People Widget standing out; it allows you to create circles of friends from your contacts or groups of people related to your social network accounts and have them available for a one tap overview, this is pretty useful for bringing up contacts for quick communication whether you wish to call, message or e-mail them. The phone has social networking well covered as all Android devices do, with the FriendStream widget you can have your entire social network accounts managed under one roof, updates from Facebook, Twitter and Flickr are steadily streamed into a single flow so you can scroll through and view them all simultaneously. The huge display makes for an enhanced browsing experience; the web pages are displayed in high resolution and look very crisp, the browser supports pinch and zoom functionality and it is Flash compatible too; this opens the door to gaming and multiple video resources from the palm of your hand. The speedy Wi Fi and 3G connectivity keep the Desire within tapping distance of the internet at all times this helps with the Friendstream feature and e-mail integration.

There is a pretty nifty 5 mega pixel camera to please the snap happy users; it has face detection, auto focus and widescreen capture embedded into its software and the flash provides sufficient light in dim conditions, the geo-tagging feature gives the opportunity to add information including picture location to your images and the image properties option allows you to alter the colour saturation and sharpness of the image. The Video recorder shoots 3gp videos in 20-30 frames per second depending on lighting conditions and the multi media player can handle wav, wma, mp3 and m4a audio files and mp4, wmv and 3gp video file types, many others can be played but the list is very long. There is an FM Radio built-in, Bluetooth and the phone has a series of sensors that recognise the phones location and if you have picked it up and adjusts the volume accordingly.

HTC have stepped it up with this model, cant wait to see the response from other leading manufacturers!
