Different Types of Broadband

Broadband is one of the few technologies that have gained huge popularity and success in the past few years. With the advent of internet, almost everyone these days have become heavily dependent on internet and they want faster and better connection instead of the old modem and dial up internet connection service. The different types of broadband can be discussed as under:

1. DSL Broadband - This is almost similar to a dial up connection, except it is better than it in many ways. DSL is an acronym for Digital Subscriber Line and in this type of broadband service copper cable is used for the purpose of sending exhaustive data over to the internet rapidly. The unique thing about this type of service is that it is suitable for both heavy users of internet as well as light users.

2. ADSL Broadband - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line or ADSL broadband is a type of technology that is asymmetrical in the sense that it allows better download speed as opposed to uploading speed. This type of service is great for all those who use internet mainly for downloading purpose, like office goers. It is also great for domestic use.

3. Symmetric Broadband (SDSL) - This is just the opposite of ADSL technology in the sense that it has the same download and upload speed; but you're going to need an additional telephone line for this services and it is not suited for business use.

4. Cable Broadband - This is a popular broadband service which uses a cable for the delivery of service. One can opt for this broadband only if one has cable access to the streets. A lot of internet service providers recommend this service for everyday use.

5. Satellite Broadband - As the name suggests, this one uses a satellite to offer connectivity and hence you're going to need a dish antenna if you are looking to establishing this connection.
