We are living in the world where change is tremendous. This change has opened unlimited opportunities for living and work. But in all this, we have somehow forgotten the fundamentals or the basics of life. There is plenty of everything but still hollowness persists in everything. We are looking for new things to find happiness and satisfaction.
A major part of the world is enjoying greater freedom considering the people in particular. But this freedom has given way to chaos. People have become insane. There is a killing spree in the developed nations, there is a mass massacre in other places, and juveniles are indulging in rape and murder. Where is the direction for these people? What is the kind of education we are providing? There is only one thing in focus which has been engraved into our education system and that is "success at any cost".
Is technology a solution or the problem? No doubt technology has helped in taking the human race to the place where it can say nothing is impossible but has it solved the basic problems like poverty, illiteracy, corruption and violence. Actually it is not the fault of technology that problems have not been solved. Technology is a servant. If the intentions of the master are not chaste, the servant can do nothing.
Countries claim to be democratic, philanthropic but after so many years of effort, money what have they achieved. At one place there is an extravaganza of money and shamelessness whereas not far from the same place there is hunger deaths and famines. Awareness and information overall is on the board but the flight never takes off. What is it that we are watching? What is it that we are reading? Is this news? It has corrupted own minds such that we are not able to think positive even for a second. What kind of things are we following? There are television series and then stories about the series. Then stories about those stories; what a waste of human intellect and time?
Opportunities for the fortunate that is only those who have got enough always have chance and luck to get good opportunities. We talk of financial inclusion when there are even no remote signs of social inclusion.
Brilliance but no wisdom for our generation: people seem brilliant with great ideas and knowledge to offer. But the brilliance is short lived or momentarily, it's because other people have even less sense to create and decide.
Governments every now and then come up and announce a Mission for social good and benefit but there seems no vision for the so called Missions. And ultimately what society gets at the end of a year or so is news of a big scandal and corruption in the programs.
Skills without soul: in the present times everyone grows up acquiring some skills and they do well. But how many of them leave an impact. Their skills miss the soul and without a soul everything is dead.
Learning without knowledge: people learn a lot but there is no knowledge associated with it. Learning to them is just an activity to do another activity. And how much we enjoy learning and making people learn is also a question.
Characters without character: though people look different and seem different characters altogether but the fact is they have no character at all. They are neither black nor white in their character. All have shades of grey and seem like machines without any emotions but full of machine oil they call professionalism which runs these machines.
Mirrors without conscience: how many of us can look at the mirror with pride in ourselves? The conscience is a subject of research now. What is that? We only follow our minds and see reasons that favor us. We exploit for our vested interests and give our actions many names that sound good. We have brutal and violent in our behavior and conduct.
Realities without truth: there are those proclaimed absolute realities that have no truth associated with them but people project them as if there is nothing beyond that. Even a lie has lost its character. There is no black and white here too, only half truths and half lies.
This generation is having best of education available, best of technology available and even best of facilities available and yes there is immense freedom too. Then what is there that is wrong, why is there so much chaos. Why are people killing people for weird reasons? Why have we lost our patience? Where is the tolerance? Everybody is running for something, probably the money and what they do after making money. They make more money. People look as if they are fed up with something they don't know. Though they have everything they would have wanted. Everybody seems to be in love, but there is no love. Everybody seems to have friendship but there is no friendship. People have grown to become so selfish that there have remained only one relationship and that is the relation with self but even that is not pure and selfless. What kind of education are we having? We have become so intolerant, so impatient, and so blind that we don't see innocence now, we don't see beauty now, and we don't see life now. We have forgotten that there are some who are less fortunate and who need our help. But what are we doing? What we try to accomplish is just a momentarily fascination towards something and this can not provide satisfaction and pride. But we seem to never realize that till our end.
