Sleep apnea is a very serious disease. Many people suffer from a mild form of this disease, and they probably are not aware of it. Sleep apnea is a condition that restricts breathing when you are sleeping. The most basic symptom of this condition, and the most mild form that most people suffer from, is snoring. If your snoring is a constant problem, you might want to get checked out before it gets any worse. Sleep apnea can be deadly if it does not get properly diagnosed. However, once it is diagnosed, it can be treated fairly easily. Two of the most common ways of treating this condition are with BiPAP and CPAP breathing machines. The CPAP is the more popular form. CPAP stands for continual positive airflow pressure. This device, basically, helps you breathe. The CPAP concentrates mainly on the inhale breath. This means that it continually puts pressure on the amount of air that you inhale. This added pressure makes the airflow naturally through your constricted passages making it easier for you to breathe. These machines have many features, and have become quite advanced. They can even run off of a cigarette lighter so you can take road trips. The BiPAP machine works very similar to the CPAP breathing machines but instead of concentrating solely on the inhale, the BiBAP machine helps you to exhale as well. This machine is typically used by people who suffer from sleep apnea, but also from a heart condition. BiPAP and CPAP breathing machines are only used by people who have severe cases of sleep apnea. If you suffer from a mild form of the condition, you can probably solve the problem at home. You should still talk to your doctor, however, to get thier expert opinion.
