Two Classifications of Car Shipping Services

How long should car shipping take? This is one of the most common questions of individuals who use car shipping in Massachusetts and in other states. Actually, since there are two major types of car shipping services, the duration of the whole shipping varies on some factors and this may include the type of your car and the destination on where you would like to send it.

Basically, the two classifications of a car shipping services are enclosed car shipping and open car shipping (this is of course if you are transporting your car by land, transporting your car by sea or air is different things). In an open car shipping, you car is loaded into an open trailer and it is then transported to the destination. The availability of this service may depend on the availability of the trailer itself, of course, if there is no trailer; there is nothing to transport your car with. If the service is readily available, the whole shipping process should not take more than 7 days. But do not worry because open car shipping is the most common service among people who ship their cars that is why the service is most of the time (if not always) available.

When it comes to enclosed car transport, your car is loaded into an enclosed container van. This type of service is appropriate for people who transport expensive cars. With this type of service, their cars will have protection against dirt and objects which may cause damages to the car itself. This service is not always available since there are only a small number of people who choose this type of service not to mention that it is also more expensive as compared to open car shipping. So in other words, if you choose this particular type of car shipping service, you may have to wait a little longer for your car to be transported to your desired destination.
