When the Giants made a decision to release Luke Petitgout back once again in earlier February, it arrived being a shock to everyone. Why would recently appointed basic Manager Jerry Reese need to weaken the Giants by acquiring rid of the rock on the still left component of those offensive line? Unfortunately, Giants fans never genuinely got their answer. until now, that is.
After calendar months of fans questioning the move, Reese made a decision to offer some insight into his decision to release the nine-year NFL veteran.
"People are so worried about still left tackle .

I feel that's so overrated," Reese said. "People work like Petitgout was the 2nd coming. He never made the Pro Bowl, and i really do not feel he at any time must have been a 1st alternate. Now all the sudden he's the savior? that's ridiculous. i really do not feel we're that bad off with out Luke Petitgout. He wasn't a take the leading role still left tackle. He must have been a solid still left tackle on some functions and other situations he wasn't. Luke may be a marginal participant for any prolonged time."
Ouch. individuals are some very harsh conditions returning from the person that constantly preaches "Giants pride and respect." How about some respect for any person who still left every thing on the area for 8 right seasons?
Sure, Petitgout was never a Pro Bowler, but he wasn't a marginal participant either. He was named to Sports Illustrates All-Pro 1st team in 2001 and performed for any extremely Bowl team. He do every thing the Giants requested him to complete and earned an excellent offer of respect through the NFL.
While I concur that this concern earlier the still left tackle placement is simply a little overrated, I also feel it experienced been foolish to allow Luke go on the Buccaneers. And I feel it experienced been even especially much more foolish to rip a person who do his especially ideal in New York.
