subject: You Can Have A Successful Information Marketing Business [print this page]

You may not believe this but there are many thousands of people out there earning vast sums of money from information marketing on the internet.

Now, I know your first reaction may be " Sure, but not me, I can't write". But that would be a poor excuse because, first of all, you don't have to be a budding Shakespeare, and secondly, if you don't want to write, there are many places you can go to get people to write for you.

So that's out of the way then.

But now you are going to ask, "What will I write about? That's a very good question, and here are the answers.

Firstly, information marketing is simply packaging information in the form of reports, books, DVDs, etc. which will answer specific problems for a targeted group of people who are prepared to pay for that information, in other words, you are providing solutions to a need.

People are constantly surfing the internet for information and knowledge, the 'information industry', and the 'how to' markets will never go away.

Better still, if you can make it easier for your readers to obtain their answers so that they do not have to trawl through possibly millions of pages of information on the internet, then they will be more than pleased to pay for it.

There have been many people who have made fortunes by providing information to people at a price, information that is freely available on Government websites, but they can't be bothered, or do not want the hassle of finding it themselves.

Of course, you need an area to specialize in, or a 'niche', just offering any old information is not good enough.

It is far better to follow a niche that you have a passion for, as you will find this much easier to work on and when things get tough, rather than something you really have no interest in at all.

If you have some specialist knowledge in a particular field, it may be past or current employment, a sport, a hobby, you would be amazed at what people are intested in, bean bags, dog collars, attracting butterflies, witchcraft, the list is endless, you just need to find a subject that:

-Needs plenty of answers.

-Has enough people interested.

-There are plenty of people with questions to ask.

-Has people willing to spend money on their interest.

So if you have some specific skill or experience, find some way to turn it into a marketable product.

Do your proper research, find the answers, and you are ready to go.

If you feel that you are unable to write quality articles or blog pages yourself, then there are sites you can go to where writers will be ready to do that for you , all you have to do is advertise your project and writers will bid for the job and produce good quality work for a reasonable price.

Set up your website or blog and then start to attract people to your site by providing interesting information. Your aim now is to develop a list or database of prospective customers, people woh are likely to buy from you in the future.

If you provide good quality information on your website, then you will start to build trust with your prospects, and this will eventually motivate them to become paying customers in the future.

Use the correct marketing, ' push' marketing is where you focus too much on yourself, or use too much technical language, which has the effect of pushing prospects away.

You need to use 'pull' marketing, where you focus on the benefits of your service to your prospects and what your service will do for them, thereby pulling them to your site.

You need to have something to convert them from visitors to prospects.

A site must have an opt in form where prospects can leave their details, and to leave their details they will need some sort of inducement.

This could be a short report or a DVD on your chosen niche, offered as a free gift in exchange for your prospects details.

Soon you will start to build an ever increasing prospect list to which you will be able to recommend the products you are selling.

Being involved in information marketing is very satisfying, and is a great way to provide a service for people who need answers to their problems or need to learn more about their chosen subject. You will quickly establish yourself as an expert in your field and people will soon begin to trust you and thank you for your service.

In no time you will be making a very nice living, so plan your project very carefully, do the proper research and always provide quality content and you will find that being an information marketer is probably one of the best decisions you ever made.
