The time comes when we can no longer care for our loved ones. This may be due to disease, disability, or simply old age. Many of us send our loved ones away to be cared for by others. A lot of the time, we unwillingly have to send them to a nursing home to make sure they get the proper 24 hour care that they deserve.
Since we are not caring for our loved ones anymore, most generally they are looked after by CNA's, or Certified Nurse's Aides. A CNA must take full pride in the work that they do . They are trained and then receive a certificate verifying that they have what it takes to be a nurse's aide, and take care of our loved ones. Nurse's aide duties may include bathing our family members, changing them, feeding them, or even just sitting and talking with them when they are lonely. It takes a very special, kind-hearted person to have the desire to take care of others in this way. We can rest better at night when we know our loved ones are in the hands of a person who is kind and caring.
There are many reasons why it is important to be kind when you work as a Certified Nurse's Aide. You may enter the room of an elderly person that you have just bathed. In this scenario, they may have spilled juice all over themselves and once again need another bath. It is the responsibility of a CNA too be kind and loving, as well as make sure the patient is taken care of. Some people would get rather aggravated at the situation, however, an effective CNA would bathe the person again in a heartbeat, with a smile on their face. Sometimes a patient may be in a bad mood and not very nice. They may say rude remarks to the CNA or even yell at them. An average person may get angry and decide to yell back. However, CNA's are kind and loving people by nature, and will handle this properly. In order for a Certified Nurse's Aide to be effective at their job, kindness is a top quality that they must have.
