Living Prepared For A Emergency In A Week To Week World!

Emergency Preparedness

If a natural disaster or crisis hit today would you be ready? Do you have enough food and a reliable water source to last you three weeks if all the stores where raided by others and the water pipes blown out? When preparing for an emergency there are 6 basic essentials we all need The "6 Emergency Essentials" are:

1) Water

Having a way to store or keep water is the key water accounts for about 60% of our human weight. We should drink any where from 2-3 liters a day. During a crisis you can not last more then three days with out water.

2) Shelter

Shelters give protection from the climate they can keep it warm when its cold and give shade it's hot. In the case of a crisis a shelter gives essential protection from animals and people.

3) Heat

The average core temperature of a human is 37.0C hypothermia starts when your body reaches any where from36 C shivering to 30 C which is almost dead. In a crisis with no shelter or some thing to heat us it is easy to become hypothetical.

4) Food

Food is gold in a natural disaster. When a crisis hits all the dollar bills you have saved up will become useless and turn to fire starters (and not even very good ones at that) and the food you have could buy you a car. It is important to have EXCESS amounts of food saved up for a time like this.

5) 72 Hour Kit

In a minor crisis officials say it would probably take 72 hours or more to be rescued. A 72 Hour Kit is specifically made to get you past those 3 days they contain basic things like food, water, shelter and first aid every member of the family should have one.

6) Light

Light is a key but some times over looked necessity with out it our daily activity's stop when the sun goes down. Light is also a great security system think of all the people who rely on flood lights to protect there home
