Marketing Hub: Purpose and Creation

Marketing, particularly internet marketing, is all about strategy and placement. There are many affective techniques out there which can help build your business and bring traffic to your site. Creating a marketing hub, however, can be the single most important step in your strategic marketing set-up.

What is a marketing hub? Simply put, a marketing hub is a central location from which all your marketing efforts emerge and to which all traffic generated from those efforts is directed. In other words, everything begins and ends there. A marketing hub can be anything with content in it. It could be an article, a Squidoo lens, an SEO optimized site. The most effective platform for a marketing hub, however is a blog.

A blog, particularly when self-hosted, provides numerous benefits when used as a marketing hub. First of all, blogs are very easy to set up. Even when self-hosted, they are very inexpensive, and can usually be set up and published within a couple of hours. Also, blogs are really easy to customize. With a little research and some creativity, you can even make a blog to look exactly like a full-blown website, complete with opt-in box! You can even reproduce your sales page, or add your blog as a subdomain of your main site. Plus, you can add any type of content you'd like to add to your blog. Videos, audio recordings, pictures, they call all be very easily embedded into your blog.

How does a marketing hub work? Well, like I told you before, this is where everything begins and ends. So, what you do is you come up with a great piece of content (video and article are my favorite). Make sure your content is linked to your blog. On the blog, write a brief post about the video you just created, and embed the video right on the blog. If working with an article, then provide an expanded version of the article on your blog (try not to make it too long, though). Finally, post about your latest piece of content on all your social media, linking back to your blog.

The end result, if your content really is valuable, will be tons of people subscribing to your blog, and filling out the opt-in box. People want leaders to follow, and your blog can definitely help establish you as such when used as a marketing hub.
