When choosing a blog platform, 9 out 10 cases people will recommend you to go with WordPress. And 9 out 10 times I agree.
However, sometimes we should wonder if we need such a powerful software to power our simple blog? Thanks to the plugin system, you can transform WordPress in any kind of website you desire. But sometimes that's just overkill.
If you just want to publish a few posts every now and then, why not use something simpler? Just because WordPress is the most popular blogging software doesn't mean there aren't other options.
And let's be honest, how many people do you personally know that have been updating their blogs with regular content over a year? In my case, it's zero.

There are plenty of minimalist blogging platforms out there, but my favorite one is Tumblr.
It's really simple to use, even easier than WordPress. You just have to choose what kind of post you want to create: text, photo, quote, link, chat or audio. Sometimes having less choices is good, especially if you blog from mobile devices.
If you never heard about Tunblr, create an account there and blog for thirty days. You really need to try it out for a while to make sure it suits you.
