How to embrace change

While there is individuals tolerate change with open arms, others dislike it. However, by following the tips below someone can accept change and you might just enjoy it!

1. A new perception towards change can help. One should view it as a challenge, rather than a problem. We have all heard the phrase "Change is as good as a holiday". Instead of fearing about what might happen, think about the positive spin-offs of the new challenge.

2. Life is ever evolving. Enjoy the changes and embrace more flexibility. It is okay to stick to routines and habits, but life should never be too rigid to allow change.

3. Be prepared for change by doing a few small things differently ever so often. This will help you reduce the fear of the unknown. Here are some guidelines:

Change your hairstyle every 6 months

Move the furniture around in the home

Buy a new outfit that is different from your usual clothes.

4. Take one day at the time. Yesterday is over, and you will not experience it again. Tomorrow is in the future, so just make the best of the present is all that counts. Miracles happen daily, so someone may be wasting your time fearing about the stresses that may arise in the future. They may never happen. People have a tendency to look for the monsters under the bed, while we know monsters do not exist!

5. Take some credit! People deal with change daily. At some point most people faces change. Expect that you may not handle things that come with change perfectly, but do not anticipate problems.

Learn from mistakes and use this experience to cope with new situations. Remember, it is not the mistakes that matter - it is whether you learn and how grow from mistakes that matter.
