Hemophilia is the most common form bleeding disorder, occurring at about 1 in 5,00010,000 male births. Usually only the boys get hemophilia at birth.

It happens very rarely, that a girl is born with hemophilia. This can happen if she has a history in the family, meaning the father has hemophilia and her mother is a carrier.

Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder that is inherited.

The mothers that carry this disorder have enough factor so it's a little bit difficult to detect. The mothers that are caring hemophilia do not have bleeding disorders.

What does hemophilia do? Lowers blood plasma clotting factor levels of the coagulation factors needed for a normal clotting process. The normal percentage is between 80 120 % at a normal person . With hemophilia the percentage is below 1 % in the worst cases.

Types of hemophilia: There are two main types.

1) Hemophilia A, where the factor VIII (8)levels are low

2) Hemophilia B, where the factor IX (9) levels are low.

What are the symptoms?

Bleeding excessively that is the major sign of hemophilia. The bleedings are not always external. They are more likely to locate in the joints, brain or internal.

Hemophilia is categorized as mild ( 5 30 percent factor A or B), moderate (1 5 percent factor A or B ) and severe ( under 1 percent of clotting factor A or B)

The only way to find out if you are suffering from hemophilia is to go and have test about your clotting time. If it's more the average you should consider making more investigation to determine the problem

I write this from the point of view of an hemophilia. I was really hard as child to understand that I am not allowed to do many things like running and play soccer. So as i grew it became much more easier to realize that I am not a freak of the natureListen
