The Gun Game 2 is a fun way for fans of arcade-style shooting games to kill some time. It's simple to play, the "jobs" can be completed fairly quickly, there are plenty of perks and weapons to unlock, and it manages to be fairly challenging. It's not the kind of game that's bound to suck up hours of your time, but it's a good game to pick up and play.
Despite the rather lengthy tutorial and ability to save your progress, The Gun Game 2 seems to be about as simple as video games get. You're given a gun (or rather the choice to buy different guns with different attributes), and you have to complete specific tasks such as shooting wooden boxes, paper targets, and small orbs that move around the screen. Every time you complete a task, you gain some money to buy new guns as well as experience points that earn you new abilities when you level up. One thing that makes The Gun Game 2 so challenging and interesting is that the guns more or less behave like real guns. They have a recoil that can throw off your shots if you fire too quickly. This means that it's in your best interest to fire slowly and carefully aim all your shots, a task that makes the timed tasks as well as the battles against other shooters difficult.
The "jobs" (or tasks that you must accept at Fat Bob's store) start off very easy. All it takes is to shoot some mostly stationary targets, kind of like on any shooting range. There is a particularly challenging and frustrating one that comes early where you are required to shoot a number of moving orbs in order from the smallest to the largest. The smallest orb is behind all the others, making it an especially hard target to hit. Chances are that you'll fail quite a bit at this task at first. The challenge ramps up in earnest once you get to the "Elite" skill level. These jobs require you to fight against other shooters, and while the first few aren't that difficult they eventually start using big guns against you that can drop your health meter down to nothing in a few shots. This is naturally where things get interesting, and where the gun game 2 cements itself as a truly fun flash shooter.
