The two main Good Friday processions taking place in Sorrento are : the procession of "dell'addolorata"" also know as the procession of thr "Visit to the grave" (Visita ai sepolcri), organized by the Venerable Confraternity of Santa Monica called De' Cinturati, and the procession of the dead Christ, organized by the Venerable Confraternity of Death. The parade is open by a music band playing solemn funeral marches, the music composed by different authors (including Chopin) accompany the slow pace of hooded. The heart of the processions is the choir of the Miserere, a group of about 200 singers that, in the style of Gregorian, sings in Latin the verses of Psalm 50.
