subject: Ibiza Holidays - Top 10 Bars [print this page] With such a plethora of bars in Ibiza, knowing where the best places are is a daunting task. With this in mind I have compiled ten of the best night spots on the beautiful Balearic Island of Ibiza. I would urge you though, when you're on your Ibiza Holidays that you do a little exploring yourself too - after all that is half the fun.
1. Cafe Del Mar (San Antonio) - In spite of the the rise of its brasher newer neighbours I highly recommend you visit Cafe Del Mar. The idea is very simple, you lounge alongside the shores of the Bay of Calo des Moro in San Antonio and admire the amazing sunsets to the backdrop of eclectic and ambient music provided by the bar DJ, absolute bliss!
2. Base Bar (Ibiza Old Town) - Has been a favourite starting point to the evening for what seems like a very long time now. Situated by the Rock bar it has a very informal feel to it. An ideal place to chill out and celebrity spot.
3. KM5 (outskirts of Ibiza town) - A beautiful luxurious Bedouin style haven hidden in the hills about 5 kilometers outside Ibiza town on the road to San Jose. It has an enchanting garden with Stylish Tapestry tents, sofas, candles and colourful scattered pillows sprawled about for your lounging pleasure.
4. Bar el Grial (Ibiza Old Town) - Situated 500 meters away from Pacha this established venue is perfect for a relaxed start to the evening or a full on night out. About five Euros for a beer and open until 4am, Grial has bucket loads of atmosphere and excellent DJs too. Well worth a visit as an alternative to the port area.
5. Sa trinxa beach bar (Las Salinas Beach,Playa D'en Bossa) - Sa Trinxa bar is located at one end of the Las Salinas beach which is famous for its nudity and its Turquoise blue waters. It's a bit of a walk down the beach to get to the bar but it is worth it, not many package holidaymakers or families bother to walk that far, meaning only people in the know venture to Sa Trinxa.
6. Guarana (Santa Eulalia) - Kicking off at eight o'clock, Guarana is a chic, trendy bar in the upmarket northern enclaves of Santa Eulalia. The infamous Los Pirates hosts monthly sessions on Fridays with underground DJs appearing regularly. This bar is ideal if you want a more authentic, intimate Ibizan experience without sacrificing the obligatory hedonism.
7. Cafe Mambo (San Antonio) - No Ibiza experience would be without watching the dramatic sunset from the front row seats of this legendary watering hole on San Antonio's Sunset Strip. This iconic international institution boasts a long history of playing fantastic tunes. With famous DJs and world renowned parties - what more could you want?
8. Rock bar (Ibiza Port) - The Rock Bar is nothing less than an Ibizan institution and one where you're likely to mix with the in-crowd. Located in the centre of the port's main drag and adjacent to Base bar, it's one of the largest (not to mention liveliest) bars in the area. Make sure you get in early to reserve the best seats on the terrace and check out the pre-club parades.
9. Tira Palla (Ibiza Old Town) - An insiders treat this one.Through a modest and nondescript front door, up some stairs and out onto the terrace where you will be confronted with fabulous views of the Old Town. This is an authentic Ibiza bar, full of locals and odd in-the-know tourists.
10.The Red Lounge (Old Town, Ibiza) - A lush and very underrated bar tucked away in the Old Town, with large cushions it's the perfect place to chill out away from the usual haunts near the Port.
If an sophisticated night-life is a high priority for you when you're on your Ibiza holidays then the above bars should definitely be on you list of places to visit.
