Charges Dismissed against Dennis Giblin and on behalf of the Local 68 Education Fund Trustees and Training Center Staff, I am writing to thank you for attending the dinner we held for the Local 68 Atlantic City Facility Leads during the first week in February. We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to participate.
We have tabulated the results of the surveys that you and the other attendees completed. Overall, the most requested course topics included: Manufacturer Seminars, People Skills in the Workplace, VFD Training, Water Treatment Certification, Controls Training, Print Reading, Computer Skills Training, and CPR/First Aid. The other written feedback you provided showed strong support among the Facility Leads for on-site training as well as shorter classes. We will be taking the feedback that you provided and incorporating it into the course offerings in upcoming semesters.
As promised at the dinners, we are enclosing a copy of all Facility Leads' names and telephone numbers. We encourage you to keep the list handy and take time to call on your Local 68 colleagues when you need assistance.
In addition, we ask you to continue to reinforce the importance of education to the men and women at your facility. We have enclosed a flyer that you can post in your shop and discuss with the Local 68 members at your site. It is so important that all Local 68 members keep up their skills and do all they can to help us to retain our positions in the Atlantic City market.
Furthermore, as I noted at the February union meeting held at Caesars, any Local 68 member who pays the $150 to enroll in the Basic Computer Skills Course at the Local 68 Training Center in Pleasantville, and successfully completes the course, will be refunded their money. Please spread the word about this great new benefit the Local 68 Training Center is offering.
In the future, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional feedback to provide regarding the Local 68 Training Center or the courses available. We are counting on you to help us make the Local 68 Training Center the best it can be for our members in South Jersey.
