Tips when Using a Treadmill
Tips when Using a Treadmill

This article presents some free tips which will help to motivate and encourage you to continue using treadmills.

1. The first advice is to make the workout as exciting as possible, so not to get bored. Many people find it very useful to hear music or watch television whilst using the treadmill. You may also vary the exercise program from walking to running and may also include interval training with or without inclinations. All this will make your treadmill exercises more interesting.

2. It is also very important to set clear specific goals. Goals will help to keep you training harder and when you start to obtain results, this will even motivate you further.

3. It is also important to drink plenty of water. Drinking one to two litres of water per day avoids dehydration and tends to increase metabolism, thus allowing the body to burn more calories.

4. Another suggested advice is to include the workout as part of the daily routine and your way of living. This will help not to miss any days. An ideal workout must last from 30 to 60 minutes in duration.

5. Whilst exercising on a treadmill it is vital to maintain an appropriate/correct posture. Ideally you should stand up straight without bending the back and slightly swing your hands without holding to the treadmill.

6. Do not over do it. Perform those exercises which you are capable to perform. If you are not fit enough for interval training do not go for it, as you will be risking an injury.

7. When you finish running on a treadmill, you must slow down to walking and then stop the treadmill. It is important you do not stop the treadmill at once, as this will make you loose your balance and risk to fall. It is also suggested that when you go down from the treadmill, you stand still for circa one minute, drink some water and then proceed to the shower or other exercises. The cooling down is as important as the warming up and it is the exact opposite.

All the above tips will help you for better training. Treadmill Training helps to build muscles, a healthier lifestyle and confidence in oneself. In fact it is proven that apart from the physical benefits of training there are also a number of psychological benefits which are further discussed in one of my articles at http://www.physical-fitness-instructor.com/physical-fitness-articles.html - Enjoy reading.
