Engineers Ireland announced on the 16th of June their short list for the Student Innovation Awards. These awards emphasise the fact that people are beginning to really see the importance of young engineers and how they have the potential to affect Ireland's economic success.

Shocking findings about A level Maths

The study of teaching and learning of maths was published on the 9th of June and unfortunately it highlights that one in five drop higher level maths. As a result of this study, some have suggested putting a bonus scheme in place for maths students. The scheme could offer students bonus points if they complete a maths A level.

The Irish Times is reporting that Dyson are very happy to talk to candidates from Ireland because they believe that they are of a high standard. This has been demonstrated within their company by Patrick Moloney who was born in Ireland. He won the Irish part of the Dyson student innovation competition.
