As the development of social economy and of people' life, there are so much variety of selection for clothes that you never have to make do with the second best. The clothes is becoming a symbol of fashion and the clothes made of cotton, fur, lace and down feathers are more and more popular. However, have you ever been bothered that your clothes become stained, discolored and dingy looking? In order to keep these clothes beautifully preserved, washing is the first step. Special attention should be paid to different materials.

Cotton Items

The durability and versatility of cotton make it a prime choice for many garments as well as other fabric items found in the house. It's also very easy to wash and to care for.

As a durable fabric, cotton can generally be machine washed and dried with no ill effects. It is helpful to check the label for recommendations. For best results, machine washing cotton items should be done in warm water, normal wash cycle, regular detergent with color safe bleach if desired and tumble dry on low setting. It may be safe to wash cotton whites with bleach on a hot water setting. When washing cotton clothes, to help keep them soft and fluffy, you could use half the amount of recommended detergent and run them through an extra rinse cycle. Once you have washed it, it is now time to hang and dry. A wood hanger or coat hanger is best for cotton items, which can help you to keep cotton clothes soft and to remove wrinkles. When washing and drying cotton items, you should never use a silicone based fabric softener, either liquid or sheet; for they act as a water repellents and will diminish the absorbency of the towels. A hot iron will help to remove wrinkles. Adding a spray starch will revive the crispness of cotton fabrics.

Moreover, there are two points should be take into consideration. We should not using bleach if a finish has been applied to the garment. Also we should avoid using more than the recommended amount of bleach because it can damage the fibers. Cotton items can shrink and wrinkle easily so they are often combined with other fibers. Check the care instructions on the inside tag for any special exceptions.
