The town watchman was charged with the responsibility to look out over the city every 15 minutes to make sure there were no fires, and because of this process, Zurich has never suffered a devastating fire, as many other major European cities have.

Many consider Grossmunster to be the most significant attraction in Zurich. Dedicated to the patron saints of Switzerland, Felix, Regula, and Exuperantius, the construction of this building was finished in the 11th century.

Of course, you absolutely cannot skip over famous Swiss chocolate, as it is very much a national pride. Located in Zurich, the Lindt Chocolate Factory has been making world-famous chocolate since 1845, and today you can go on a tour of the factory and enjoy plenty of free samples while you're there.
