How Does a Vending Machine Works?

When was the last time that you have purchased something from a vending machine? How was your experience? Were you able to purchase what you need easily, without getting into much trouble?

Vending machines are just one example of the much technological advancement that we enjoy today and these are the products of automation. Yes, automation is behind almost everything that we use, from the car that we drive to go to work to the elevator that we use to go to the right floor in a building automation is everywhere.

You may be wondering on how a vending machine does work. Actually, the process does not involve too much complexity. In fact, you can easily understand the concept behind it with just a simple illustration.

In order for you to be able to start a transaction with a vending machine, typically, it needs money first so you need to put in money before you can even purchase anything out of it. After you have inserted your money, you will then make your selection. You can select what you want to purchase simply just by pressing the button that corresponds to the particular item that you want to buy. After you have pressed the right button, the vending machine then does check for availability of the item, if it is available it will then dispense it but if not, the machine will return your money and if you want to purchase a different item, you will then have to insert the money again. But there are vending machines now which ask you first if you want another item instead if the one that you like is not available.

In general, vending machines are being operated by an automated system that is why we can easily purchase what we want out of it.
