British Gamers Amongst Thousands Queuing in Germany for Xbox Kinect

Gamers from around Europe queued overnight in Germany to get hold of a sought after Xbox Kinect, the revolutionary hands free, motion sensing device for the Xbox 360.

Amongst them were British gamers waiting in anticipation to get their hands on a Kinect which currently retails at around 130.

The Kinect works by using motion sensors, a camera and a microphone so users can play games and interact without the need of a controller.

Chris Lewis from Xbox said "What this does is broaden the appeal of Xbox".

The Kinect is in stiff competition with the likes of the Sony Playstation Move and Nintendo's Wii Plus but Microsoft are sure that the family friendly games will win the market share to become market leader.

Kinect Games currently available in time for Christmas include Dance Central, DanceMasters and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Stephen McGill, the director of Xbox in the UK said "Playing Kinect is natural, intuitive and brilliantly fun, and we're very excited to bring it to hundreds of thousands of families across the country this Christmas."

"It's about technology getting out of the way, being incredibly invisible. So you just stand in front of the TV, or sit down, however you want to play, and you just move your body, the game responds to you. It's incredible." McGill continued.
