There are project manager jobs available, assistant manager jobs, general manager jobs and assistant manager jobs. Choose a particular field from the options that are given to you. Your choice should depend on some factors like your general aptitude for a particular field, the responsibility that you are willing to take up. Otherwise it will be a tough job to be successful in a particular field if you are not enthusiastic about that field. If you do not aspire to be a good manager, you can be careless about the field in which you are working.

You are the head of a team. So, you need to form a strong team which will yield strong results. A mediocre team will yield mediocre outputs. For building up a strong team, you need to follow the hire and fire policy. Otherwise, you can be lenient and laid back. Your team will also be casual and laid back and work will be stagnant.

The environment of work should be good. This will ensure productivity. The environment of office depends on some factors. On some occasion it becomes necessary to provide separate workspace to the employees. In other cases, an open space is sufficient. In order to enhance productivity, you might have to spend some of your company's money. You can neglect these considerations if you don't wish to be a good manager.

In order to be an able manager, explain the vision of your success to your subordinates. Set realistic goals for them which they can fulfill by their hard work. Organize meetings with your team or even a one one meeting. Other forms of communication, like email and messages should be sent. All these will have their effects on the net output of work of the team. A manager's job calls in for a lot of responsibility. A bad manager may not care for all these factors at all.

Good communication skills are a must for good managers. If a manager is not good in communication, there will be a bridge between him and his team. A person, who is bad in communication, will stammer and fumble while talking. The position of a manager is a respectable one and these things are highly embarrassing.

Equip your team to do their work flawlessly. Pass your skills onto your team members by training them. This will ease you from enormous responsibilities on your shoulders. However, a bad manager will not do so and fear that his position will be threatened in the long run.
