Whether you choose to ignore it or not, the BP oil spill is a serious threat to not only the Gulf of Mexico but the world's oceans. Everyday tons of oil continue to spew into the sea killing precious wildlife and destroying local trade which is set to deteriorate at a rapid rate. Should we as a nation sit back and let governments and tycoon industries destroy our earth for their own profitable means? Of course not!

The hands across the sands movement has been set up to unite us at this unfortunate time. Everyone is being encouraged to hold a peaceful protest at their local beach no matter where you are in the world, as a way of showing how much we oppose offshore oil drilling that continues to this very day. This Saturday, the 26th June, we shall all gather by joining of hands in multiple lines at our local beaches to make a stand against this lunacy that destroys our natural habitat. By uniting in numbers like the citizens of Florida did on February 13th it's possible that we really can influence a change to the issue of oil drilling, no matter where you are in the world.
If we want to make a positive change in this world then we need to unite and stand against that which we oppose. The hands across sands movement may seem like a mere gesture to many, but for our governments to take us seriously we need to make our move, not wait for them to brush us off with excuse after excuse. Come on people, let's not wait for policy makers to decide our fate, let's tell them what we want done by uniting together against off shore oil drilling!
