Richard Ramsden Supports Movember

Richard Ramsden has become an annual supporter of Movember.

Movember Foundation is "a not-for-profit, charitable organisation which runs the annual men's health initiative, Movember, across the globe."

The term was coined from the month of November, which is when this annual event takes place.

Each year, men known as the Mo Bros, sporting Movember moustaches, become the organisation's walking and talking billboards during the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, these men raise vital funds and awareness about men's health issues. They encourage private and public conversations about men's health issues which are often ignored, specifically prostate cancer and depression.

The Mo Bros are supported by the women in their lives, the Mo Sistas. These men and women raise funds by seeking sponsorship for their efforts.

Richard has joined this noble effort because he believes in Movember's vision, "To have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health."

Richard joins the other Mo Bros in upholding the values of Movember Foundation. They work at having every part of their campaign fun and simple. They are accountable and transparent, striving to exceed best practice cost to fundraising ratios. The Mo Bros and Mo Sistas work with their beneficiary partners to deliver best possible outcomes from all funds raised. But they don't stop there. They always create new ways to accomplish things that are useful for other people.

Through Movember, Richard helps raise money that is channelled by the organisation's health partners into different "world class and innovative education, research and awareness initiatives." Movember Australia collaborates with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and beyondblue: the national depression initiative.

There are more organisations helping raise funds and awareness specifically where children and women's health issues are concerned. Movember was put up because there was a need to address health issues concerning men.

Richard Ramsden has made the decision to join the Mo Bros and Mo Sistas in this campaign so as to help bring to light some health problems that men may find hard to talk about. The organisation will also contribute greatly in helping medical professionals to better treat ailments as more funds as well as information will be made available to them.
