subject: Can We Replace The Iphone 4 Lcd Screen And Front Glass Seperately [print this page] Today my iPhone 4 fell for the first time and my front glass broke immediately leaving an ugly mark. I can still use the iPhone like nothing happened so probably no internal damage. My question is, if I can just replace the glass itself, leaving the
iphone 4 LCD screen (I assume the LCD didn't took any damage from the fall).
Because I dont know if the glass is glued to the LCD or something ?I have found some1 on TOPONS that is selling the LCD Touch Screen separately, for $62 compared to $108 for the front glass Full set.

One of my friends said I cannot replace the glass and LCD separately, please do not fall prey to people of eBay trying to offload useless replacement front panels that they bought before the phone was announced. Unfortunately Apple constantly makes decisions in design that makes repair difficult. Here they decided to glue the LCD and the front panel together to remove the issue in older iPhones of dust getting behind the glass and keep the iphone 4 screen clear.
Joyce told me that if I read the comments on the video you linked to, you will see the owner of the video admit that 1) the iPhone was prepped, and 2) it is impossible to separate the glass from the digitizer.
Steven told me that sorry for the bad news, they really wish it could be done. I can see in our original teardown's main image that we tried to separate them. (look at the scarring on the lower left corner of the screen) I see. They suggest I get a full front panel set including the LCD.
Jhon who work for the Apple said that Its not possible to replace only glass, I need to get compleet original front screen panel. Replacement is also difficult it takes 60 minutes. It is not like the back glass panel whihc is easy to replace only in several minutes.
From their words, I know that the touch screen and the front glass are separate. It is impossible just replace the touch screen or the front glass. So what I need to do now is to buy the whole set new iPhone 4 LCD Screen Replacement.
