Let me tell you a story about my life, my name is Darcy Brewer I got married and raised a family. We'll you must be thinking " we all have done that" right? Well over the years I have attracted a women who has spent 13 years harassing me. This person writes nasty letters about me on the web, all of course is untrue. I have had hand written letters come to my address with just nothing but a bunch of uneducated nonsence, included in the letters was nasty ads cut from books etc. This has went on for years. Justthree years ago this, we will call her " the NY stalker" stalked me from the west coast where I was living in California to where I'm now living. Let's just say 3000 miles from California. This person uses any means to track and stalk me. I started getting phone calls on my unlisted phone number, so I changed my phone number. The problem is anyone can go on-line and buy your address and phone number. It has taken me over a year to stop my name from being listed on ( people search). I have had this person use my husband and my credit. We pressed charges that all went on when we lived in California. This person had the nerve to even write documents and sign my name and my husband's name to them. You must be thinking " what is the motive" well 13 years later I can tell you their is no motive, People just become addicted to you and has the want and need to become apart of your life, to live you, to breath you, to be you. I'm just me and I can tell you I have been so sick at times over all the stress this has caused me. No one should have to try and hide. We don't even give out our address or phone to family just a few people has a contact number for us. No one should have to live this way. I can say over the years I have fought back and gave the " stalker" some of her own medicine. But i can say it's no goodit only feeds the stalker. Now steps on what you can do if your living in the same boat so to speak. Remember your stalker may even play the " victim" roll so keep all documentation. After 13 years I have decided to stop hiding and stand up and put an end to my stalker, I'm filing a court order to stop this person from using my name, credit, from even contacting me or driving thru my state, I will be going after what company or who gave this stalker my address in court.Remember always be watchful of your seroundings.
step 1- Report all activity to police, make police reports on everything. Even if you don't have the address of the stalker like in my case, keep all proof and police reports.
step 2- Contact the ( people search) websites and have them remove your information. Tell them you have a stalker and do not want your information out their.
step 3- You may want to have an alarm put on your house or carry legal protection, pepper spray, etc what ever you feel you may need to protect yourself.
step 4- If your credit is used report it to police and press charges, pull your credit twice a year just to make sure your not being scammed. If you are show proof it was fraud and have it removed. It takes time but its worth it to save your credit.
step 5- always make copies of all cyber emails / crimes and make a paper file so you can keep all your proof and police reports in your file in cause you will have to go to court. If you can get the address of this stalker by hiring a detective then do it so you can file a formal complaint and press charges for stalking and harassment, fraud or whatever your case maybe.
step 6- GET IT INTO COURT, get a protective order, let your local police know what is going on and who is the stalker. In my case I have the name of the stalker. If you do not or can not get the address but know what their location is then file the complaint in court and put it in the news paper. You can move forward with your protective order. Remember that order is only as good as the ink on the paper. Always protect yourself !
Step 7 when all else is done report it all to the FBI at least you have all your documentation.
Remember call and report everything toyour local police dept.
