A prestigious company would probably choose the perfect model for a certain product and if you get chosen then you may consider yourself as one of the best among models. You can be popular also to the public like famous actors and actresses. Especially products that you promote or apparel that you wearing will be automatically yours.
Lets talk about qualification to become a fashion model and how they make it. Do they have a standard qualification when looking to someone who perfectly performs it?
You should be somewhere between 15 and 22 years old, though probably closer to fifteen. Models don't have careers that last as long as say, doctors, so agencies tend to want to invest their time in someone young. You should have to consider your height, a tall, long-legged, and lean will be more acceptable. At least 5'8" in height and average weight for a model is 108-125 lbs. These characteristics are partly aesthetic and partly practical: this type of frame looks good on the runway and in front of the camera (which, they say, adds 15 pounds); and a somewhat scrawny build drapes clothing nicely and ensures a good fit in the standard wardrobe. There are always exceptions to the rule, of course - Kate Moss is 5'7" and Gabrielle Reece is a giant 6'3" - but, in general, the closer you are to the industry norm, the better your chances.
Unique physical appearance is highly qualified. Like unique, exotic, alien, strange features (large eyes, full lips, etc.). Other characteristics will be build up if you get hired. From a catwalk and proper posture. You will also learn how to maintain your figure be measuring the food you will eat and especially foods that will not eat.
Aside from height requirements, models are required to have good skin (not perfect but free of blemishes), great teeth, nice smile, healthy hair, and must be well groomed. Models must also be highly photogenic, able to do a variety of poses and expressions and take direction well.
It is possible to have some blemishes, stretch marks or skin conditions but as long as you are able to keep it under control, such issues can be worked around using Photoshop. However, the clearer your complexion is, the better.
There are many types of models.
Such as editorial fashion models, commercial models, fitness models, and catalog models. Every types they have also different criteria. That is why I believe that every person who is inspire to become a model have a lots of chances as long as you meet their criteria then probably you can have this as a second career or challenging career you want in your life. You have also to maintain positive working relationship with his/her agent and clients in order to expand your career in this industry.
