subject: Choosing Your Bridesmaid Dress [print this page]

The exciting thing about getting married is the part where you make plans and arrangements to make your wedding a perfect one. Part of it is dressing up your bridesmaids. While you might think at first that this would be an easy task, you would soon realize that it is not as easy as it seems. Each bridesmaid may have a different size or skin tone, so if you went with a color or type of dress that did not suit everyone, your guests may be able to spot that disparity. Here are some tips to choosing bridesmaid dresses that will flatter everyone.

First of all, you can flip through magazines or the Internet and look for looks that you would like to carry during your wedding. If you know your wedding theme already, you should be able to look for styles that will match the theme. Clip out or print the dresses that you like. With those clip outs or print outs, you will be able to hunt for similar dresses from bridal salons.

There are a few things you can think of when considering the color, such as the theme, the color of your wedding gown, or even the your flowers. Light colors like ivory and light sage are common, but if you want something bolder, colors like red or black are also in the trend. Do select a nice color, but not something that would steal your limelight. It is, nevertheless, ultimately the brides decision to choose the bridesmaid dresses.

When it comes to choosing the fabric for your bridesmaid dresses, you should consider the season your wedding is held in. As you would like for yourself, you should also have your bridesmaids dressed in comfort. If it is summer, pick something light, and avoid layered dresses otherwise you might see them sweating in the color of their dresses. On the other hand, during cold seasons, pick something thick and that is not too revealing, or your bridesmaids may catch a cold.

Last but not least, you will need to decide on the best dress. Since your bridesmaids are probably going to be the ones paying for their own dresses, try to consider each of their budgets. You would not want to trouble them too much trying to fork out cash. Once decided, order them all at once so that you can receive them together to avoid any complications for your own records. Check to see that the dresses have the right cuttings and are the correct ones you ordered.
