Was that only yesterday?
Was that only yesterday?

The time when you sit idle and you feel you have nothing else to do, that is the time when your past becomes a treasure house to be explored. I am experiencing such an ideal idle life now more so because college's just over. Sitting at home I am waiting for my employers to call me soon on duty and spending most of my time trying to relive my past. How? By watching the innumerable photos clicked during the tenure of four years of my college life and the crazy videos which bring hostel days back in action.

College life is the golden period of one's life. Whoever said that first had very rightly said. But I couldn't realize that when I started my college days. Instead of being excited, I was busy posing a pensive mood for missing my school days and for having to stay away from my parents in a hostel. I didn't know back then that I was about to make some such good friends without whom life seems meaningless now and that the hostel(in our terms 'cellular prison') would become a suitable substitute for home. Every bit of college and hostel lives seem to remain vividly etched in my mind. The way we friends remained glued to each other - watching movies on our laptops(I remember we used to leave watching certain movies because they were intolerable but Chandu - my roomie, secretly made sure to tolerate each such movie till the end), despising hostel food and preparing small meals for ourselves - sometimes improvising new techniques of preparing maggi, playing stupid games like, "Tell the name of a movie, I'll continue by naming another related to the actor who acted in that movie", teasing each other whenever our secret crushes got disclosed or we got caught speaking romantic stuff over the telephone. The list seems endless.

Now it seems I was in some kind of a fairy tale land where there was love and care all around. We fought for our friends and even fought with our friends but that luckily got resolved within a couple of hours. Practising maturity didn't seem necessary because there were plenty of heads guiding each other.

Today back in my own home I am feeling lonely without all of you - Tamoghna(Bitan), Suchandra(Chandu), Payel(Palu), Samanwita(Shomu) and few others who have enriched the golden period of my college life with memories which will wither away only when I cease to live.
