subject: What Do I Have To Give To My Driver? [print this page]

By the time a courier driver is actually showing up at your address, you shouldn't have too much left to do other than give them your package and see them on your way. The only times that this might be slightly more complicated is if you don't have a courier account with the company that you are trying to ship with. You do have to have your package ready through, and this doesn't just mean having it nearby, but actually having it packaged correctly, labeled for the delivery, and with all the packing guidelines set out by the Las Vegas delivery service adhered to. That way, you can be sure that the driver won't have any problems just picking up the parcel and getting it on its way.

If you're not an account holder there may be more things that you have to do with the driver when they show up. You may have to show them some identification, proof of payment, or make payment on the delivery right there. If you are an account holder you might have to provide your account number to the driver, but usually this will be taken care of beforehand, or the information will be included on the shipping labels that the courier will have you print to affix to every package. Account holders always have an easier time shipping products through because the shipment can simply be billed to their monthly statement, almost always saving time when the driver actually comes to pick up the package.

The guidelines for packing that the courier company gives you are very important to follow, as they are both for your own good and for the good of the courier company. These usually include things like how to pack breakable goods, and how to package anything which might leak or spill. If you don't follow these rules, the driver actually has the right to refuse to pick up your package. That is why when you're getting ready for the pickup that the most important thing can sometimes be just making sure that you've run through the checklist for packing that your company has given you and make sure that you stick to everything that is included in it. That way you won't experience any delays or extra fees for not being ready for shipping if the driver refuses your package for not following those clearly stated rules.
