When a loved one passes, often what we look for are ways to commemorate their time here on earth. Search the internet and you'll find (weird) and wonderful ways to do this. What follows is my list of really unique memorial ideas, so here goes.....
1. You can have their ashes placed inside fireworks and set off on their anniversary. Lovely to think they are lighting up the night's sky!
2. A weird one this, but there is a company who will fill a cartridge with cremated ash so that you can fire it off into the distance (only in the US of course)
3. Another company creates pencils with ash, so you can write poems or stories about them using their ash (strange, I know).
4. If you're loved one was a keen underwater lover, then how about turning their ash into part of a coral reef? Lovely to think that in some way they are living on and helping aquatic life.
5.I can't really get my head around this one but there is a company who will put ash into a hour glass timer, so your departed can always keep time, or help you boil an egg!.
6. You can turn ash into diamonds. Both human and pet ash can be used to create your certified diamond, but beware, this process is expensive and takes up to eight months, but beautiful, none the less.
7.How aboutputting their ash in a piece of memorial jewellery? Many companies offer specially designed lockets to house cremated ash.
8. How about naming a star after them? Nice to think they are twinkling down on you at night!
9. Want the ash to be fired from a cannon? Well, a company will make a cannon ball and incorporate the ash for you. All you have to do is fire it!!
10.Lastly, how about a tattoo? I'm not just talking about getting their name in a heart, I'm talking about having their ash put into the ink, and getting that tattooed onto your skin. It can be done, and is a permanent reminder of your loved one.!
