The designer of the clothes needs to have a good idea of what shoes or boots should go with it. It could be a disaster for the designer to see his or her latest creation unveiled in front of the worlds fashion press, only to see the effect ruined with the wrong shoes. The logical answer then is for the designer of the clothes to either design the shoes as well or at least have a good shoe designer working exclusively for him. The shoe designer must obviously be allowed a lot of freedom in the design of his own creation but it helps if the head of the design house has a good rapport with him.
Today there is a lot being made of womens boots. It may have something to do with a very cold winter expected in the northern hemisphere. Early December of this year has already brought very cold and snowy conditions. There is nothing better than a sheepskin lined leather pair of boots to keep the feet and legs warm. Not that womens boots should be thought of as exclusively the thing to wear in winter. Boots look terrific all year round whether long boots or ankle boots.
This year several designers have actually produced an open toed boot. This is obviously stating that the boot is not just for cold weather.
