The cool part about fitness multipliers is that you don't have to dread your daily workouts because you do them throughout the day. In other words, you include your various fitness routines - aerobic, muscular, stretching - in your daily activities, accomplishing two or more things at once.

Here's a list of basic multipliers associated with golf:

* Good cardio, weight loss and general fitness (unless you're driving a Mini Me, I mean, a golf cart).

* Re-connect while playing with a spouse; or the opposite: Escapism in which you avoid a spouse while playing numerous rounds of golf (both are healthy activities, if not in the extreme).

* Re-connect while playing with your kids; or ditto above (in military circles, a few people volunteer to go to the field or deploy to escape hectic family life).

* Hang out with friends.

* Networking (that's why business people play with other business people).

* Fresh air.

To add to the basic list of golf multipliers:

* Go through your cell phone notes while awaiting the next golf hole (or find a good tree and stretch your muscle groups, take your pick).

* Keep in mind that you're exercising your body and your mind; thus, you may find many of your best ideas popping into your head somewhere between the 9th and 18th hole (it's the cardio that forces the brain activity).

* Mull problems over in your head, or play with a blank mind and don't think about your problems; either way the cardio will assist your thought process.

If you can think of more ways to get things done while you're golfing, you have your personal list, plus the two lists above - and you'll probably think of more multipliers while you're golfing.
