As an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) Etiroam have relationships with two Network Operators. One in the United Kingdom and one in the United States.
The Etiroam Dual IMSI SIM card has two SIM identities included in one SIM card. The SIM has both a +44 UK mobile number and a +1 USA mobile number. Users can accept calls at all time on either of these numbers. Note that free incoming calls only apply when called on the +44 number. Users receiving calls on the +1 number will be charged an additional 24p for each incoming call. This is particularly useful for people travelling from the United States where friends and relatives have a local number for contact. The GlobeNet Dual IMSI SIM cards are available to pre-order for delivery early to mid May.
In the United States all Network Operators impose MTC (Mobile Termination Charges) on all inbound and outbound calls. These fees are very high indeed, check with your normal Operator the cost of roaming in the USA. Will it work with my phone?
The Etiroam service is compatible with just about any unlockedGSM mobile phone.
However, you must first ensure that your mobile phone is unlocked. The easiest way to do this is to insert a SIM card from a different network into your phone. For example, if you have a T-Mobile SIM card, try inserting your friend's Vodafone SIM card. If your phone operates normally, it is unlocked. However, if you receive a strange message on your screen, your phone is locked and you will need to contact your mobile operator and request an "unlock code", which they are obliged to give you, although certain conditions may apply. You can of course also unlock your handset through many online companies.
