After The Affair - Surviving Infidelity
After The Affair - Surviving Infidelity

It is on a couple's wedding day that they are first confronted with a set of wedding vows, one of those being the infidelity vow. It is at this time that most couples - husband and wife - truly believe that the act of infidelity is a true deal breaker and firmly believe that they would not be able to forgive such a sin.

In the real world though, the act of infidelity - one spouse cheating on another - is often forgiven. Some marriages still end but many of them do not. Both spouses choosing to rebuild and move on together.

This can be you, too. Get over the infidelity, reestablish the trust, create an open relationship and build the foundations of a better than ever before marriage. It can be done!

You see, there are a few common reasons why some marriages are able to survive after the affair. The first reason being this;

The person who cheated is willing and able to admit that the choice to commit adultery was their own and that he or she is willing to accept all blame and fault without making excuses. Accepting full and unconditional responsibility for their actions.

No marriage is perfect, nor can a marriage ever be perfect. There are always going to be misgivings and every single person (married or not) has desires or feels bored sometimes. This being said, not everyone chooses to cheat on their spouse.

The second reason some marriages are able to survive after the affair is this;

Both parties - The Cheater and The Cheated want to rebuild the relationship. They are willing to talk about and listen to all of the details of the affair. They are willing to be open and honest with each other and try to understand what factors may have contributed to the affair.

It is necessary to be open and honest so that you create the best possible setting to be able to completely get over infidelity. This willingness to be open and honest with each other will also ensure that the next time you are feeling stressed or bored, you will not find yourself back in the same situation again.

Getting over infidelity can take quite a bit of time. Please understand that it will not happen overnight. But, it will happen!
