You have just exited out of a failed relationship and you currently know that you miss your ex tremendously. You have no idea where things went wrong and all you know is that you want your ex back. It is my opinion that you should apply the no contact rule however; there are some things, which you can try before instituting this harsh means of trying to get your ex back.
Is it ok to contact my ex after the failed relationship?
Suffering from a failed relationship with a broken heart is very much hard for anyone to have to deal with. It is even harder when you know you are still in love with someone and you are supposed to enact the no contact rules. I will state that it is ok to contact your ex in the beginning of the failed relationship.
- Ask what happened to cause the breakup
Request that your ex inform you what happened and why he or she ended the relationship? IF your ex does not comply with your request, then you must enact the no contact rules if you want any hope of ever getting your ex back.
- Do not try to force your ex to explain things
You cannot force your ex to tell you what went wrong or why they ended the relationship. Your ex might still be angry or could possible be within denial. This is why the no contact rule is very much important.
You need to prove to your ex that you are capable of going on with your life while focusing on yourself. This tactic alone is more times to none enough reason for your ex to come running back to you.
- Do not text message your ex about the relationship
You can try contacting your ex before you institute the no contact rules. If your ex does not answer the phone or never answers your phone calls, you must now enact the no contact rules. Do not ever text your ex demanding answers referencing the failed relationship. Texting is something most of us perform however; text messaging is not a formal enough arena to discuss a failed relationship. Some people actually find text messaging annoying.
- Write your ex a letter
You can try writing your ex a letter. The letter should consist of how sorry you are for the failed relationship and how much you love them and how much you want them back. Do not make the letter consist of cheesy love lines which are very much lame. Ensure the letter is somewhat personal but grammatically free of errors and heartfelt.
It is my opinion that the no contact rule is far better a way of getting your ex back as compared to keeping the communication between your ex. You must decide what is best for you and your situation. If you want your ex back, ensure that you are mature enough to maintain the communication as well as instituting the no contact rules.
