Teddy Bears As Gifts
Teddy Bears As Gifts

There can be no better gift to buy someone you love than a Teddy Bear.

The Teddy Bear is, after all, an icon of perfect and unconditional love, so a Teddy Bear given as a romantic gift can therefore be one of the most romantic of gifts you can buy. An Old Teddy Bear, with history is even better.

Old Teddy Bears have all different stories to tell from simply sharing a childhood with someone to sharing a war situation with a soldier. Obviously the more history the Teddy Bear has the more expensive the bear will be. Old Teddy Bears with proven history are hard to find which also pushes up the prices. If your loved one is in the Armed Forces for example, what a wonderful gift a Teddy Bear that was owned by a soldier in the Second World War would be. However, buying a Teddy Bear as a gift need not be too expensive and the Teddy Bear need not be old. If your loved one loves history, what better gift could you give than an Old Teddy Bear with an interesting history, especially if it is of the era that person particularly enjoys, or even a Teddy Bear that has been signed or has met someone famous of that era.

A Teddy Bear is probably one of the greatest gifts you can give to a new born baby. Perhaps then, a new Teddy Bear is the answer for two reasons, firstly, both the child and the Teddy are new to the world and so they can grow up together and share their life. Also an Old teddy Bear is not ideal for a new born baby as they are often very delicate and are really not safe for little ones. The Teddy may have glass eyes and other dangerous bits, which when he was made was never thought about.

Some of the best Teddy Bears around to give to little children and new born babies are made by Steiff, Merrythought and other bigger firms as they produce Teddy Bears that are children safe, however, always check with your Teddy Bear Dealer if the Teddy is right for children.

Buying a Teddy Bear as a gift need not be expensive either. There are many bargain Teddy Bears around that would make really excellent gifts.

Another idea, if money is a little tight is to buy something Teddy Bear related. I immediately think of Teddy Bear jewellery items when I think of this, as recently, many celebrities have been photographed wearing Teddy Bear items of jewellery including the famous Cheryl Cole, who was photographed wearing all manner of Teddy Jewellery. Once again, these items can be expensive, but they don't have to be. What I would suggest is you find an item of jewellery that is not too popular, something that is just that little bit different, for example Elsie Bear Brooches, which are all unique in their own right.

One thing I would suggest whilst writing this article is, when gifting a Teddy Bear, it is always worth photographing the moment the Teddy comes out of it's wrapping, because for a start the person you have given the Teddy Bear to will no doubt have the biggest smile on their face ever and secondly, it all adds to the Teddy Bear's future history.

Photographing a baby or a young child receiving a Teddy Bear is very important, as it will begin an album of their life together. I cannot think of anything so personal, so loyal and so special as gifting a Teddy Bear.

If you collect an album of photographs of that child and his Teddy Bear over his growing up years, what a wonderful gift it would make to give him an album of all the photographs and a brief history of their life together on the day he leaves home to go to college.

One last thing, don't forget every time that person sees, talks to or touches that Teddy Bear, they will remember you too, the person that gave them such a wonderful gift of love. The Teddy Bear is, after all an icon of true love.
