This is a product review of Drano Max Gel.
My shower drain clogged up on me all of a sudden with no warning or previous slow draining; the water just stood there about an inch deep, withno movement toward the drain; good old dirty standing water; Yuck.
I tried all the usual tricks guys like me who are not too handy always try: I plunged away like a madman; I used my water plunger and got well soaked for my effort; I snaked a straightened coathanger down through that muck. No luck.
Before I would call an expensive plumber (who is also my brother-in-law's brother and gives me no break on parts or labor, by the way), I went to the store and bought some Drano Max Gel forabout four dollars. Soon I was back home and pouring the full contents into my shower, which bythat time looked more like a wading pool of filth. I went away for a while hoping it would doits thing.
I went back to check the situation every thirty minutes or so. There was little visible change
except for a frothy material, quite like a beer head, near the drain. Each time I checked, this
foamy matter had grown larger in mass, slowly drifting toward the back of the shower.
Finally, four hours after putting the Drano Max Gel in my shower, the water had drained. I
turned the water on full blast and the drain was able to keep up with the water volume, giving
me a nice, fast drain. Success!
I would recommend Drano Max Gel to anyone. Sure beats paying for an expensive plumber (particularly when he's your brother-in-law's brother).
