subject: Got A New Ford? Look To The Dealership For Parts And Repair [print this page]

In todays do-it-yourself world, many people want to fix their own vehicles. But is it really a good idea to try to work on your Ford vehicle yourself?

Theres nothing like getting a new car. The way it feels when you sign on the dotted line and slide into the vehicle as its new owner for the first time is simply beyond compare. But then, some time down the road, your vehicle starts acting funny. Maybe its bouncing around more than it should be, or maybe the air conditioning unit has started to malfunction. Because were becoming an industry of do-it-yourselfers, many people try to purchase inexpensive replacement parts and to do the fix themselves. This, however, may not be a good idea.

Dealership Repair

Most Ford dealership offices actually have a repair plan in place for your new vehicle. But unfortunately most vehicles only have a problem with them after the warranty has run out. This can be very frustrating for those who love their vehicle and who want it running perfectly again, and for those who are not in the mood to pay the kind of huge bill that comes along with having the vehicle repaired in a full service garage. But, in reality, its actually a much better idea to have your Ford vehicle repaired at a Ford dealership than it is to try to repair it at home, especially if you dont have a great deal of experience in fixing cars.

One of the biggest reasons why it is a good idea to use a Ford dealership to fix your vehicle instead of trying to fix it yourself is due to the tools that are required to actually fix the vehicle. Many of the newer vehicles that are being released require very specific tools in order to take parts apart or to put them back together. One example is the brake pads. Brake pads used to be very easy to change, and many men found themselves fixing them in their garage every few years. The newer vehicles, however, have brake pads that are only removable with a very specific tool, and most of us dont have these tools in our garages, even if we used to change out our brake pads previously.

Parts

And then there are parts. Ten to twenty years ago the only thing that you had to do in order to fix your vehicle was to go to a parts store. The people at the parts store not only had the pieces that you needed in order to fix your vehicle, but many times they could also give you advice as to how to fix whatever was wrong on your vehicle. Now, however, the only place that you can get many of the parts that you would need in order to fix your vehicle is directly from the dealer, and you do not want to purchase directly from the dealer. The price for purchasing just a part itself is usually fairly steep, and much higher than if you were to have the dealership do the work on your car. And you know, if you have the work done properly, that whatever was broken will be fixed properly.
