There are a lot of evening venues to take advantage of while you are in the town, particularly within the areas of clubs, pubs, and entertainment. If you are a party animal, you might be disappointed somewhat, as the area tends to be more quiet during the week. That said, you can go out and find lots of bars and a few clubs in the area, and they will offer you a bit of variety in presentation and price. You can revel in the company of a lot of Australians on the Walkabout located at high street. Similarly, there is a nice small South African grill and bar for expats in the south part of town. If you are looking for something a bit more traditionally English, try out the Rose and Crown, located in the village. It claims to date all the way to the 1500s, and the menu is priced reasonably. You can also try the Dog and Fox, which is welcoming to average people despite being somewhere often frequented by rich professionals and celebrities. If you want a bigger set of cheap bars and super clubs, you can hop on a train and be in Kingston 10 minutes later.
Beyond the alcoholic based forms of entertainment, you can also get a good time at reasonably priced gyms, swimming pools, movie theatres, greyhound racing tracks, and numerous parks in the area. Because it's located on the outer portions of London, there is a fair amount of green space and park region to play around with in town. The parks tend to be a bit crowded during the summer months when England is blessed with good weather, but they are well worth the time it takes to get to them.
