I hear everyone talking about getting web site traffic. Organic traffic through the search engines, pay per click traffic from paid advertising etc.
What I do not hear enough about, is the value of the web site visitors. If you are paying for advertising, you better know the answer to that, or else stop paying for traffic right now!
You should not be guessing or going by statistical percentages, instead you NEED to really know the true value of your web site traffic.
What works for some may not work for your site. Every web site is not the same and the only way to know for sure is by testing and tracking your site visitors.
Why is this important? For many reasons, with the main reason being... this is the answer to how much money you can earn from your website.
I feel it is risky to leave this step out of running a business, especially an online business. Without testing and tracking, it is all guess work. Nothing good will ever come of this... so if you take your business seriously, start testing and tracking as soon as possible
Here's an example of what I am saying. If you are getting an average of one hundred visitors a day to your site and one sale a day is coming from those hundred visitors, you can be pretty sure that one percent of your visitors will buy your product or service.
Now that there is no guessing involved, you know that if you increase your visitors to one thousand a day, you should make ten sales a day. Makes sense, right?
So, if you are selling a product or service which earns you ten dollars per sale, you control you own income. Do you want to make one hundred dollars a day? If so, you need to get one thousand visitors a day.
In order to double that income, you need to double your web site traffic.
