I made it usable for which made a plan to plant flower shrubs. I also arranged bright colored pots of different sizes and colors. Suddenly it looked enchanting. I also noticed that birds started coming there. Seeing them there I kept bird food too. I arranged birdbath at this place and spent hours standing there where I could watch birds flying. Birds often pecked at nuts and grass seeds I had arranged.
A time came when I felt tired by standing at terrace for long. I went to market and bought some lovely outdoor furniture sets. It helped me sit there for longer time without getting tired. But I could sit there only if weather was favorable. It was in those typical moments that I realized of fitting patio umbrella at this place. My assessment was that patio umbrellas are used by hoteliers, restaurants owners or club managers only who attract costumers and flourish business. I didnt think earlier that they could also be used in terraces which I thought now.
I was surfing web one idle hot afternoon for gathering information about gardening terraces. I got abundant information and felt how it would look to sit under big umbrella in patio with the family. It looked amazing sitting in front of home. Photos displayed were attractive that I assumed was of mine. I could arrange one umbrella for making it possible to go and sit on terrace like displayed in the photograph. Idea of family reunion was amazing for which I explored.
Various types of designs were displayed which attracted me the most. I was a bit confused to find the varieties of patio umbrellas, outdoor umbrellas and market umbrellas. I was in catch22situation though. Abundant types were available. I selected the smaller 9 off the wall umbrella keeping in mind my terrace which was not bigger enough. Furthermore I also wanted to leave some space for my children to run and play. Such umbrellas are designed as half canopy aluminum patio umbrella which can stand besides a wall minus any attachment. Awning over the door could be an option for me but it would not be feasible for me. Awning cant be shifted easily like this one.
Although offset umbrellas seek my attention but I didnt select them due to space constraint of my terrace that couldnt fit them. But definitely these umbrellas look splendid particularly the one being manufactured with lights directed into them in peculiar manner as they are hidden in frames artistically which couldnt be viewed. Back of the frame is used for on/off switch. They are safe for children due to low voltage transformer facility. I would definitely have them when own house with bigger patio.
My focus is on patio heaters. It is impossible for me to make my terrace worth usable for longer period in the whole year due to absence of heater when there is too much cold. Here do I look for a solution and select specific category of heater that is none other than chiminea. Their excellent ethnic designs literally captivated me. But they too have one problem. From where you would collect wood because chiminea functions from wood only. Some people arrange pinion wood which offers excellent aroma. Amongst other features of this wood bug repellent qualities are most noticeable. Though they can be ordered online but problem is of storage.
Often my husband insists for propane patio heater but I resist and tell him that his aesthetic sense has gone wary. I am aware of this fact that he is right but still I do so due to my obsession with chiminea which I feel is the best option after exploring others. Countless options of beautiful heaters are there. They function through natural gas. Perhaps this time I will change my attitude and will look for something else instead of chiminea because if I buy it I will have to arrange firewood rack for which I dont have adequate space.
You can get an electric patio heater too. However, propane patio heaters have some advantages as well as some disadvantages over electric heater:
A propane heater does not need any plug in points. Therefore, you can take it to whatever corner you wish, even indoors.
In case of natural catastrophe, when the electric supply is suspended, your propane heater can keep the children comfortable.
Propane is less polluting than electricity because the later is generally produced by burning fossil fuel.
On the other hand, you need to refill your propane heater and so need to keep tab on the supply.
Electric heater should be less of a hassle to ignite. All you need to do is to switch it on.
