It used to be that if you were in the market for aircraft parts and supplies you would have to order it from some type of catalog. This meant that you would be stuck paying on particular price for your parts, especially because you were not able to compare and contrast different prices and selections out there.
While this probably wont help airlines (as they produce and maintain their own parts and supplies, or at least have their own supply company), to the person who flies and maintains his own single aircraft or fleet, these types of online shops are nothing short of godsends. Not only can you get cheap prices and a great selection, but you can also get a wide variety of the same part, which means that if your plane works better on a certain brand, you can find different shops that offer that specific brand. Its akin to a baker who wants a certain type of chocolate that used to only be available through a certain, expensive catalog. Now, with the internet, he can compare and contrast buying the chocolates from different online shops.
There are a good amount of online shops where you can get your airline parts and supplies, so if you are in the market for them, you better start doing your research. And for those who arent in the market for them and just want to look around, well, you are welcomed too.
