subject: What It Takes To Make Your Network Marketing Business Succeed [print this page]

There are three qualities a network marketing business owner must possess: persistence, patience, and a willingness to promote. These three factors are the key to success in network marketing and will determine the success or failure of your business.

The business owner must be willing to work persistently to recruit a large number of followers, or downline, as many of them may not be successful at selling or recruiting other members. This downline is essentially how you will make your money. The larger your downline is, the larger the profits will be. Unfortunately, not everyone in your downline will put in the time and effort required to be successful. This is the reason it is important to focus your time and efforts on the small group of people who are willing to work to expand their businesses, and therefore expand yours. Network marketing also requires patience, as it may take months, or even years, to build a successful and profitable business. A successful network marketing business owner must work diligently and patiently to continue recruiting members to their downline. It will take patience to work with your downline to ensure they are working as hard as you to make both their business and your own successful. And finally, while patience and persistence are important, promotion is the glue that holds it all together. Many network marketers use word of mouth, flyers, door to door, and the internet to promote their business. Regardless of the tools you use to promote your business, it is important to always have an active marketing plan going on. This way there is always a possibility that new recruits may see your business. The more successful your promotion plan is, the more successful your business will become. You must make people understand the benefits and aspects of your product or service. You must represent yourself as a leader and an expert in your field so people will trust in your product and feel confident joining your downline. They must believe in the product"s ability for meet and exceed expectations and your ability to teach them to become the experts they believe you are. Your downline needs to be positive and enthusiastic and truly believe in your business for their enthusiasm to be conveyed to new prospects. If your downline does not truly indorse your product(s), it will show in their presentation. You need to train your downline on what to say and not to say to get the results they desire.

Training and support are probably the most important, and usually the most overlooked, aspects of your network marketing business. If a new prospect cannot learn what they feel they need to know about the product and the business as a whole, or they can"t get questions answered when they have any, they will quickly become discouraged and quit the business. The success of your business depends completely on your downline so a discouraged downline will eventually destroy your whole organization.
